Abstract
This is a creative dissertation made up of a critical introduction and a collection of poetry. The critical introduction explores the relationship of lyric poetry to ekphrasis, analogy, and signification. The critical introduction argues that lyric poetry is a multimodal container that allows for experimentation with text and image. Ekphrasis, analogy, and signification serve as theoretical frameworks for examining the relationship between text and image. The poetry reflects the application of the theories discussed in the essay.
