Abstract
In March 1961, The Catholic Bishops of Nyasaland published a pastoral letter titled "How to Build a Happy Nation." This letter discusses the relationship of Church and State and encourages laity to be civically involved in the formation of their nation, including the push for independence from British colonial rule. We currently only have a partial copy of this letter.
