Abstract
The popularity of wine and wine culture has spread throughout the United States over the last fifty years and in earnest over the last two decades. Today, as the American wine drinking population surges toward fifty million, interest in wine and quality wine education is at an all time high. This project examines the benefits of wine school accreditation, professional wine credentials, wine consumption trends, wine education trends, and current wine credential-awarding organizations located in Denver in order to determine whether a ready market exists for a new wine school in Denver. Results indicate that there is sufficient demand for such a venture, and a business plan for this nascent wine school is also included.
