Abstract
This paper will examine globalized talent pool issues and how organizations can leverage processes and tools to overcome physical separation. We are still using behaviors, approaches and methodologies that work in a co-located environment but do not extend successfully to our virtual reality. Our co-located and global teams have similar issues, but global teams have a layer of additional issues due to multiple locations, distance, time or cultures. Use of a single approach for how to work within a globally distributed team is not possible. Within this paper, I am proposing a collection of solutions for distributed teams to work better together. These include processes, templates, meeting rules, use of a social advisor, and best practices using interactive communications tools.
