Abstract
This memoir followed my life during a period of intense change. When my husband announced he was gay, I was forced out of a comfortable existence and entered a depressed state, following the archetypal hero's journey. With great trepidation, I examined my reasons for living. In my darkest hours, I discovered the therapeutic power of running. I survived many ordeals and was resurrected as a stronger, happier woman. Finally, as I searched for a missing hiker in a rugged wilderness area, I learned that contentment must come from within.
