Abstract
Dark Little Places: The Saving of Adele and Other Short Stories is a collection of work that displays the human ability to overcome internal conflict. Lesson Plans tells the story of a young man with budding aspirations of becoming a teacher and severe reservations about his ability. Plastic Sheets features a boy who yearns to attend summer camp even though he grapples with the emotional effects of wetting the bed and being ridiculed by his peers. The final short story, The Saving of Adele, chronicles the life and death of a compulsive hoarder as the trigger to her urge to collect is uncovered inside the stacks of her own possessions.
