Abstract
One Little Red Bird is a children's picture book that uses simple illustrations to convey complex ideas about color. The central characters of the book are birds that form a colorful rainbow at the end of the story. The story is also designed to inspire art activities that combine art concepts and movement suggestions. The book is divided in to three sections. The first section is a simple story about birds; the birds are rendered in the colors of the rainbow to emphasize an element of art. The second section of the book contains art project activity ideas geared toward kindergarten and first grade children and the final section has ideas on how to incorporate movement while reading the story.
