Abstract
This Creative Capstone Project is a collection of twenty-seven original poems, all of which were inspired by a popular form of street art- utility and traffic boxes that have been decorated with murals. Each poem is accompanied by a photograph of the painted utility box to enhance the ekphrastic experience. The poetry collection is followed by an essay surveying the connection between poetry and art through the ages as well as a discussion of utility box street art. A reflective essay regarding the author's creative process and future goals for the poetry collection rounds out this Creative Capstone Project.
