Abstract

This capstone paper discusses the creation of the prelude and the first two chapters of an original fantasy novel entitled Tower of Whitecliff. Along with the creative piece, a reflective essay addresses the author's reasons for choosing to write a fantasy novel, the importance of fantasy literature in the literary landscape, how the study of masterful authors in the genre influenced him, and how the growth he experienced as a student at University College affected his writing process.
