Abstract
Anyone's Child is an original narrative non-fiction manuscript of my personal experiences regarding the high profile case of my daughter, Lisl Auman, who was falsely convicted of the murder of a Denver police officer and sentenced to life in prison without the possibility of parole. This creative work in the genre of memoir consists of two chapters that reveal the events leading up to the death of the officer and the actions and proceedings that compelled the charges against her. The corresponding reflective essay describes the concept of the piece and the writing process. I also comment on truth telling in memoir, the authors who have influenced my writing and the process of defining my voice and vision.
