Abstract
This lecture explores historical and contemporary approaches to arranging and transcribing music for the guitar, taking in ideas of continua, intersection, instrumental languages, translations, and intertext within a postmodern framework. Musical examples range from the 1500s to the present, including excerpts from Milán, de Visée, Carulli, Sor, Albéniz, Granados, Brouwer, and many others.
