Abstract
Social media is working its way into business marketing plans everywhere and into the lives of consumers as a source of news, social interaction and content sharing. Television networks are slowly beginning to integrate social media into the marketing of their networks, shows and events with tremendous success for the ones that have moved forward with a social media initiative. As the consumer's preferences steer online, the industry must adapt to this trend and begin to integrate social media. As currently there is not a standard plan for the integration of social media into a television network, show or event, this research and plan will play a vital role to initiate and guide this program for the television industry.
