Abstract

Internal communication within Northwestern Mutual-Denver can be improved, which will enhance productivity and increase the sense of value amongst departments, staff, and management. Current communication practices do not promote the efficient, effective and timely flow of information between individuals and departments. This project sets forth recommendations to remedy gaps in communication, as well as actions for the integration of a new internal communication culture and methodology. If implemented, these recommendations will promote reduction or elimination of wasteful, inefficient, and potentially costly communication errors and oversights. The recommendations were derived through a series of methods including: questionnaires, interviews, and a continuous improvement event.
