Abstract
Engaging employees in an economy in which expenses are increasing and employers are not able to expand is difficult, especially as workers have experienced layoffs, budget cuts, and have been asked to complete more tasks with fewer resources. With heavy competition and a world that is increasing in technology, employees have limited opportunities to grow and advance as employers have limited time and resources to teach and train. The solution is a toolkit comprised of traditional engagement models that have been modified to fit today's economic constraints. Employees are experiencing the worst level of job satisfaction in years, and organizations need to implement these initiatives to retain talent and improve productivity.
