Abstract
This memoir explores traditions and memories growing up in a primarily Catholic home with Jewish influences, in small town America. Life revolved around Catholicism on my mother's side combined with heritage from my father's Jewish side. Living in a multi-cultural environment lends itself to confusion and questions. Because cultures and customs are defined by traditional foods and recipes, this memoir will not only tell general family history, but will be followed by family recipes and both my experiences and memories surrounding those foods and cooking them today. This memoir is solely based on my family, my experiences, and my opinions and views. It is not intended to make generalizations about either Catholicism or Judaism.
