Abstract
Performance management is an integral aspect of any organization's human resources department. Numerous performance management systems offer ways to assess and measure job performance. The system chosen by a company reflects its culture, values, and priorities. Some organizations choose systems that help determine salary increases, or protect the organization from lawsuits. Others choose systems that are employee focused, promoting career and personal development culminating in overall success for the business and the individual. Regardless of which system is selected, implementing a new system in an organization is no minor task. This project details the research, design, and implementation of a new performance management system in an American bank amidst an economy that is coming out of a recession.
