Abstract
The Lakewood Dog Park Association is a proposed 501(c)(3) tax exempt organization with the purpose of creating and maintaining new off leash dog parks in Lakewood, Colorado through a partnership with the City of Lakewood. Cities and organizations, through partnerships and independently, have had varying degrees of success funding and creating new off leash dog parks. The Lakewood Dog Park Association will utilize the best practices of successful organizations to create a standard that other cities and organizations will emulate. Through public support and partnership with Lakewood, the Lakewood Dog Park Association will utilize diverse fundraising methods to build and maintain a new dog park.
