Abstract
The tragic scenario: the southern regions of a recognized country attempts to secede, and begins a campaign of violence to foster its ends. The northern region, determined to keep the country united reacts with military force. Troops from the northern region are sent into the southern region, where they burn houses and crops, lay waste the land, and create endless columns of homeless refugees. Atrocities are committed by both sides, including acts of ethnic cleansing against troops of a different race. Hundreds of thousands of people on both sides are slaughtered. The world is outraged, and the European nations, including Great Britain and France propose to intervene militarily in the conflict, with the ultimate purpose of insuring that the southern region obtains independence.
