Abstract
Twenty-first century social media is the new old social media that has created shifts in the organization and structure of society, economics, and business models. In other words, social media has transformed human relations. The purpose of this capstone project is to articulate these shifts from conceptual and applied perspectives using theoretical and qualitative data and applying that knowledge to construct practical applications. In this regard, the focus of this Capstone is through a lens of history, content, technology and collected intelligence, which is embodied in explicit, implicit and collective intelligence. Moreover, it is the position of this Capstone that the rapidly evolving social media phenomenon embodies an infrastructure for the evolution from collective intelligence to artificial intelligence.
