Abstract
This paper discusses the implementation of a high-availability/disaster recovery plan for Vail Resorts' Infogenesis food and beverage database management systems. The discussion includes a description of the Information Technology (IT) and Infogenesis architecture at Vail Resorts. Additionally, the reasons to have a plan as well as what constitutes a DR plan are also dealt with. Different high-availability/disaster recovery technologies that are currently available are addressed. Finally, the paper examines the decisions made and the procedures chosen to maintain high availability and disaster recovery with minimal downtime given the available resources for the Vail Resorts' Infogenesis food and beverage database management systems.
