Abstract
In the years following Hofstede's 1980 work on multicultural management the information on effective cross-cultural management tended to focus on communication techniques or details about specific cultures. Increased awareness of the nature of diversity and what constitutes culture can overwhelm a project manager and the team. By focusing on what the team has in common - the project - the project manager can create a learning environment where all perspectives contribute to the project's success. This Capstone aims to gather the most current thinking on multicultural project teams and pair it with suggestions from multicultural project managers. The Create Your Own Culture Guide puts the information in one place with exercises, worksheets and resources to keep the team engaged and productive.
