Abstract
With the increasing competitiveness of the nonprofit sector, it has it even more imperative to become a high performing organization in order to remain successful. In order to reach peak performance, though, the leadership of the chief executive officer, board of directors, and board chair must be aligned and have a strong relationship. There must a collaborative environment in which everyone, including staff, are empowered to be the best they can be at their jobs. This project evaluates three high performing nonprofit organizations in the Denver metro area. It determines the common leadership traits of the board and chief executive officer. It will also evaluate how overcoming challenges can create a stronger organization.
